'ALL WELCOME' Building Project
We did it!
The major building project came to fruition in 2006. The major renovation and renewal of the church and hall took seven months, with the official handover on 24 March 2006. Since then a variety of small jobs have taken place, including repairs to the arch, equipment for the crèche and new furnishings for the hall. The resulting improvements include:
- A new entrance area to the church which is light and welcoming.
- Improved facilities for the church including toilet facilities with disabled access and baby changing facilities, and a lovely new crèche – our Rainbow Room. A small kitchen in the church now enables us to serve refreshments after Sunday morning service.
- An improved worship area with more space and flexibility.
- Improved access to the hall and toilet facilities for disabled people.
- A new hall kitchen with excellent facilities for catering by church and community users. The church now runs a lunch club for the elderly.
- General improvements to the hall which have encouraged many new users from the community.
Thank you
The project cost in the region of £360,000 and our thanks to all who gave their support: the huge generosity of church members and the community, together with church and secular grant makers. We feel very blessed to have raised the full cost of the project and have been able to achieve so much. We believe it is enabling us to better serve our town and its people. Thank you.
