Abbey United Reformed Church, Romsey

2016 Harvest

Our church was decorated once again for our Harvest Festival, just as a village church should be and how it has been for a great number of years.  Many thanks to Gill and everyone who helped in any way with the decorations.  It all looked lovely.

Hazel Roberts led our Harvest Service.  This was tinged with sadness as, after many many years of leading our worship, she has decided to step down.  We thank Hazel for all her support over the years and we presented her with a signed card and a rose called “Warm Wishes”.

Harvest Supper was enjoyed as usual by us all as was the entertainment by Bob and Barry following the supper.  Our thanks go to them and also to our organisers, Margaret, Joan and Pat Taylor, and all who helped in any way to make the evening a success.  Raffle tickets were sold in aid of our 2016 charity, Jumbulance.

10.30 Morning worship for 1st Sunday in Advent led by Revd Mike Perrott

The Christmas tree is in the front garden.  Last year people added ribbons to the tree which represented prayers for loved ones, for the world, for the future.  Everyone is welcome to visit the garden and add something to the tree; it is there for everyone to share.
