We will remember them

The outside of the church is looking lovely thanks to all the people who knitted poppies over the past months and to Sarah, Richard and Kathleen who put them together.  The ones ‘planted’ in the ground were lent to us by the Town Hall.  Many people have wandered in to have a look. Thank you also to Sarah for the imaginative display on the railings and all the work that has gone into preparing the poppies for the prayer tree.

Local people visited our front garden and wrote the names of loved ones who had served on wooden poppies, which were then hung on the tree.  We remembered those added to the tree; a message, from a local young person, slipped behind the notice on the tree covered it all:Dear soldiers, thank you for risking your life for us, I’m so grateful.
